The first four generations, series 105 and 115 from 1966 to 1993 are one of the longest largely unchanged built convertibles.

After its presentation in spring 1966, public opinion was divided. Workers on the assembly line nicknamed it Osso di Seppia (Back Shell of the Octopus) in reference to the shape of the rear end. After his product placement in the 1967 film “The Graduate”, the successful career of the tail-driven athlete took off and popularity soared.
