BMW had created a market niche that was not served by any other West German manufacturer: “the new class”.
With the introduction of the 3 Series, developed at a cost of DM 35 million, BMW had its financial feet firmly on the ground again in 1975. Paul Bracq, the designer of the small Munich car, had previously designed the successful /8 for Mercedes.
The days of lavish chrome ornamentation were finally over by the mid-1970s; matte black demonstrated a new objectivity. Edges were smoothed and stylistic gimmicks almost completely avoided. Thus BMW presented the almost timeless classic in July 1975 on the Olympic grounds in Munich.
With the introduction of the 6-cylinder engines, BMW was suddenly at the forefront.
A large part of the driving pleasure was due to the ultra-modern, sporty chassis and the centre console, which was typically angled towards the driver. Around 35 kilograms of insulating materials were used, bringing the noise level in the interior to a level on a par with that of Mercedes-Benz. For the first time at BMW, there was a computer-calculated multi-stage crumple zone, which was intended to improve accident safety with extremely stable roof construction. Safety glass, three-point automatic seat belts, safety steering column, fuel tank crash-proofed under the rear seat lifted the new 3 Series to a whole new level in terms of occupant safety and build quality.
An absolute success story, according to Eberhard von Kuenheim, then Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.
More than 1.3 million units rolled off the production line.
From today’s perspective, here are the 5 reasons why the E21 is a beloved classic:
– Timeless
– Top quality
– Safety and security
– Sporty
– Problem-free mechanics

This BMW 320 was 1st delivered in march 1978 in Italy to the 1st owner, where it stayed until today.
It is one of the appreciated 6-cylinder (M20) 122HP engines models from the first BMW 3-series, shifted with 4 gears.
The tomalingreen-metallic first paint shows a good, deep shiny, condition. The interior had been very well taken care of throughout the years. Even the factory A/C works and the service book shows the love of its first owner.

The technics had just been completely serviced. The car receives fresh Tüv and historical plates when it gets sold.
This BMW shows a stunning original collectable condition.

Hallo Siegrid. Klar kannst du den BMW selbst nach Hamburg fahren. Er bekommt ja frischen TÜV sodass er vorab angemeldet werden kann und du somit fahren kannst. Alternativ helfen wir natürlich gerne mit einem Transport.
