The Volkswagen Polo 1 Typ 86.

The Polo was shown to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1975.
The Polo, internally Type 86, was only available as a three-door hatchback in Base, L, S, LS, LX (for export only), CLS, GLS, GT and Formula E trim levels. Thanks to its straightforwardness, good road handling and amazing interior size, the Polo quickly advanced to become a popular, inexpensive car and is now a very rare model, as only a few have survived.

This 1980 phase 1 Polo 1 GLS belongs to the sought-after models because of its equipment variant GLS with the “strong” 50 hp engine.

The engine with its 1.0L displacement was overhauled and after the overhaul 2000km driven without problems.
The manual transmission with 4 gears shifts precisely.
Chassis, brakes, shock absorbers and springs have been renewed or overhauled.
The body, as well as the underbody, has been professionally repaired by a professional coachbuilder and was properly painted by a paint store.
The interior has been refinished in brown leatherette and shows no damage.
The car has a classic car registration (H license plate) and is reliably ready for everyday use or driving. The 32.000km are only read on the Speedometer and are not proven. It also has a classic report from DEKRA. The mentioned suspension kit in the report is written in the documents, but nowadays it has the original suspension built in as it left the factory back then.
Everything works fine as it should.
These Polo 1s are today so rare, especially the phase 1 with the chrome bumpers, and you don`t see them anymore.
Today, the car still impresses with its economy and its miracle of space in the interior and parking in the city center is no longer a challenge.
