The Golf Cabriolet Typ 155

From March 1979, the roof also opened on the Golf 1. Based on the Golf 1, Karmann produced a total of 389,000 cars in Osnabrück until August 1993.
When convertibles were still hot items in the 1980s, the Golf 1 Cabriolet was the affordable star under the starry night sky.
The rollover solution, which is not very delicate when the roof is open, was the only affordable way to meet the new safety requirements in the 1980s. The rollover bar as a safety concept gave it the nickname “strawberry basket” among customers.
The Golf Cabriolet was always one of the most popular open-top vehicles on the German and Austrian markets until production was discontinued.

2 years ago the car was repainted in the original color and a brand new soft top was installed by Karmann. The vehicle was never rebuilt or tuned, as it was common in the 90s, but remained in original condition. There is no rust through visible. The brakes were renewed and some other small things. The engine starts immediately in cold start and runs smoothly. The steering is free of play and the gearbox shifts smoothly.
This Golf 1 Cabriolet has just received a new and flawless Tüv.
The car comes with all actual papers, service book, the original first Kfz.Brief and bills what has been done the last decade.
Thanks to the millionfold proven VW technology from Golf I and the well-known solid workmanship from Karmann, this convertible is still a contemporary and reliable driver today.
This is your chance to bid on one of the most popular convertibles.
