This offered 1962 Buick Electra 225 withe the beloved 445 Wildcat engine has a complete history.

The now selling owner bought it 10 years ago from Mr. and Mrs. Shutt in Arizona who had bought it new in 1962.

Here in Germany he registered it to a friend to realize all the paperworks and nowadays it is registered to the sellers wife.
All in all it is 3 persons written in the papers.

Once arrived in Germany the car had to pass the german inspection for the TÜV and the paragraph 21 report for the “H-License-Plate”.

To pass the TÜV they found out, that the original engine had a crack and was not repairable. So he decided to put in exactly the same 445 Wildcat engine to have the car reliable working. In addition he replaced the old carbs by an Edelbrock. The car has always been maintained at one of the few US-Car specialists. So this is not a leaking survivor. Engine and gearbox do not leak.

Driving this car is pure pleasure. The engine starts right up and runs very powerfull smooth. The automatic shifts precise.
The accelleration of this Electra is amazing thanks to the 445 Wildcat. Driving it you can “swim” perfectly in the modern traffic but watch out, the brakes need more power as in a modern car, though the brakes work perfect fitting into that time at the beginning 1960s.
The power steering works just fine.

Checking the details we find interesting original things. For example the “car buttler” litter-box, the original Buick Kleenex-holder and a flag of the car dealer back then. Even the original glass bottle in the engine-compartment for extra water is still present. Also the owners manual and the original title.

Measuring the paint thickness we measure an average thickness between 80 to 140. So this should still be the first factory paint. Watching the paint makes it believable. The rose-metallic paint is not that shiny anymore and on little spots had been done some little repairs, but all over it should be a more than 90% first paint. Wow.

The interieur is very original too, except the seat covers which had been reupholstered by the now selling owner. The radio gives a sound, but you don`t find a radio station. The AC-compressor had been removed. All the rest from the interieur works just fine.

So this is a very authentic, original survivor from 1962 in brilliant reliable condition, telling you many stories.

If you ever dreamt to drive one of those typical US-starships you better place your bid… you will hardly find a better one in such an original condition.
