On 20 April 1971, the top-of-the-range BMW 3.0 S and 3.0 S Automatic make their debut in Hamburg at the new BMW branch in the Hanseatic city, which opened at the same time. In addition to the new top-of-the-range engine, the 3.0-litre six-cylinder has additional comfort attributes in the rear such as headrests and reading lamps. Also new are side protection strips, different tail lights and other visual details such as the omission of the side grilles in the C-pillar, with the forced ventilation of the interior being relocated to the slots next to the rear window. The radiator grille is now matt black instead of chrome, and there is also a more comfort-oriented suspension set-up. The model update for the 2500/2800 models follows in August and in September series production starts for the 3.0 Si with D-Jetronic (at the end of the production period with L-Jetronic). From October also available as 3.0 Si automatic.

With these forefathers of the 7 Series, BMW changed the automotive hierarchy in Germany: at the end of the 1960s, the Munich company successfully re-entered the luxury segment with the 2500 to 3.3 Li models. Instead of ostentatious V8s, the dynamic saloons only needed turbine-like six-cylinder engines for the left lane.

This BMW 3.0 Si was first registered in February 1972, at BMW Denzel Vienna, the original registration document is still preserved.

Between 1972 and 1975 the car changed hands annually, in 1984 the car was decommissioned and sporadically moved by daily registration. Since its first registration, the car has always been registered in Austria.

The car was found as a barn find, after a major service, cleaning of the injection system, renewal of the gaskets, professional paint treatment and the removal of all state damage, the vehicle is looking for a new owner.
The fabric interior is in very good original condition. The Verona red paintwork is still visible and has only been reconditioned and polished by us.

The 3.0 Si is fitted with summer tyres on 14 inch Mille Miglia rims.

It convinces with its sporty 6 cylinder engine with 3 litres capacity and 200 hp. The vehicle is comfortable to drive thanks to its original chassis, just like back then.
