By the 1960s, Cadillac had firmly established itself as the top brand in the US luxury class.
The designation Coupe DeVille refers to a body style that was widespread in the automotive sector in the first half of the 20th century, especially in the luxury segment. Typical of a Coupé de Ville was an open compartment for the chauffeur and a separate passenger compartment with a fixed metal roof, which already existed in the 19th century as bodies for horse-drawn carriages.
The Cadillac models designated as Coupé de Ville from 1949 onwards took up the designation of this special body shape, but were not Coupés de Ville in the technical sense, because in them the driver’s and passenger compartments formed a single unit and were completely permanently roofed.
The 1960s were characterized at Cadillac by a long continuous line that ran straight through the silhouette from the front to the rear. One wanted to show size.

This 1968 Coupe deVille appears in stunning authentic, original and beautifull condition.
The now selling owner bought it from the first owner Norma, an 82 years old lady, in Nebraska in 2013, what makes the low mileage of 43.000 miles provable.
Once it arrived in Germany all rubbers and bearings of the chassis and the steering and brakes were renewed.
Besides a new exhaust, thousands of € were invested to make this beautiful survivor technically top fit again.

The first paint, yes it is the first, shows up very shiny but also shows some beautifull patina.
This Coupe deVille is maintained on high level and is a reliable Cadillac.
The engine starts right up, runs powerfull and the gearbox shifts precise and smooth.
All electrical cables, as well as switches, lamps, etc. do not show any difficulties.
Watching the original interieur you see that this stunning Coupe had been taken care of very well.
The car is registered in Germany with the “H”- plate as an historic car and the TÜV is valid til August 2023.
