This car runs… and helps… and runs… and helps… and runs… and helps children!!!
The entire proceeds of this auction will go to Elternhilfe für das krebskranke Kind Göttingen e. V. and the Deutsche Krebshilfe
We at getyourclassic.com will also donate our commission.
This 1965 Beetle accompanied its first owner throughout his life. He was an employee of the local authority. Hence the 3-spoke steering wheel, which was standard in the authorities’ equipment.
Out of his deepest attachment to Elternhilfe für das krebskranke Kind Göttingen e. V. and the Deutsche Krebshilfe, he decided before his death to bequeath his beloved Beetle, as well as his entire fortune, to them both.
The children of Elternhilfe für das krebskranke Kind Göttingen e. V. love this beautiful Beetle, but it is of no use to them.
Their playground urgently needs to be renovated! It is with a heavy heart that they part with the Beetle to finance their new playground.
Here you have the chance to buy a beautiful oldtimer at auction, but most of all you will put a smile on the faces of children suffering from cancer.
The Standard Beetle
The most boring version of the beetles. Quasi the caretaker’s equipment. It was the cheapest variant of the new Beetle introduced in 1965, set on the new “unit floor assembly” with ball-joint front axle and receiving the 34 hp engine of the previous export model – this now has 40 hp and is called “1300”. The 1200 A bears the lettering “1200” on the engine cover to distinguish it from this model.
Except for the headlights and taillights, there was no chrome. Trim strips were also omitted and bumpers and decorative caps were painted in steel grey. The interior was also sparser. No chrome no extra. A life as a commodity was pre-programmed for it. That’s why it’s relatively rare for a standard Beetle to turn up. Even rarer if the rare parts were not replaced by chrome spare parts in the course of its life.
The original cardboard letter could not be found. In order to sell the Beetle, the administrator organised the re-registration to obtain a new registration certificate. Legally, the car is registered to 2 owners, but it was only driven by the 1st owner. The Beetle has been extensively inspected and is now for sale with a fresh Tüv and H-plates.
The paintwork is good and some repainting and slight signs of use are visible.
Technically, all the necessary work has been done on this Beetle, so that it runs with you… and runs… and runs… and runs… and runs…
Many thanks to Glinicke Classic Cars for their great support.
Not only is this the chance of acquiring a very rare Beetle and helping Kids finance their new Playground, the Classic Car Insurance Specialist OCC jumped in and includes one year of insurance for the new Owner.

Hallo.
