The W 120 was the first passenger car from Mercedes-Benz with a self-supporting body.
The upper mid-range model was launched in 1953 as the successor to the 170 (W 136) and was sold under the designation Mercedes 180.

The Ponton four-cylinder was revised for the 1959 IAA. They got a wide radiator grille and the front bumper horns were omitted. The Mercedes 180 also got the more powerful brake system of the Mercedes 190. The power of the gasoline engines was raised to 68 hp (50 kW). Internally, they were given the code letter “B”.

This 1961 180 B was restored in 2007 with a mileage of 122.000 km and has been driven about 2.000km since then.

The matching numbers engine was totally rebuilt to excellence. The whole chassis, axles, brakes, and steering had been perfectly overhauled.

The vehicle is proposed in really appreciable aesthetic and mechanical conditions.
All the restoration was carried out by professionals in the sector, who drew on Mercedes guidelines to achieve this result. The interior is intact with few signs of wear, the most evident in the wooden inserts, let`s call it slight physiological imperfections.
Mechanically, the engine has travelled just 2000 km since the end of the restoration, in which it has been totally regenerated very well with an adjoining revision of the braking system; at the same time, a more high-performance brake servo derived from the next model was installed.
The tires still have about 90%.

Number plates and documents from 1996 for re-registration of the vehicle, coming from abroad (Germany) are with the car.
