In November 1984, Daimler-Benz presented the new upper mid-size sedan as the successor to the W 123 series, initially under the designation “Mid-size Mercedes Class”. It was not until the second model update in mid-1993 that the model designation E-Class was introduced for the W 124.
The development of the convertible was based on the coupe. To ensure torsional rigidity, around 1,000 parts were reworked or redesigned. In some cases, load-bearing sheet metal had to be made from higher-grade material.
From the end of 1991, the convertible was initially offered exclusively with the 3-liter four-valve engine, which was already being phased out in other models, as the 300 CE-24. With model update 2, the aforementioned six-cylinder models were replaced worldwide by the E 320.
This beautiful Mercedes E320 convertible of the W124 series is completely serviced and has received a new automatic transmission.
The 2 registered owners are the husband and wife.
The car is in good technical condition thanks to the high quality workmanship and regular service.
The paint is shiny with no scratches. The right fender, as well as the trunk lid suggest repainting. Visually, there are subtle signs of use.
This E320 nevertheless impresses with its well-kept overall impression and lets you feel the high Mercedes quality.
