The Atlantic was offered from late summer 1989 and 1990 as the last motorhome on a T3 basis (with Westfalia equipment). Deviating from the Joker and California, it was equipped with some accessories:

Front grille with double headlights

Plastic-coated front and rear bumpers with buffer strip

Complete side panelling

2 electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors painted in body colour

Light grey dashboard upholstery

Fabric seat covers Calypso stripes

Driver and passenger seats as swivel seats with adjustable armrests

Power steering

Rev counter and digital timer

hinged windows (3-cornered) in the cab doors

It is said that in the 1990 model year, 498 of the Atlantic were built in Germany with pop-up roofs, 446 with high roofs and 145 unspecified vehicles for export.

In addition, a few dozen Atlantic Syncro were built in Graz (A), some of them still in 1991.

The Atlantic was offered in ‘alpine white’, ‘cherry red’ and ‘calypso green metallic’.

The Atlantic is originally powered by a 2.1L waterboxer 95PS or a 1.6L turbo diesel 70PS.

The Atlantic is the last classic VW camper with rear engine.

The VW T3 Atlantic offered here still wears its factory paint in Calypso Metallic and was first registered in July 1990. Since then it has had only 2 owners.
