The sports car with the so-called safety bar.
The term Targa originated from the Targa Florio, a famous endurance race held from 1906 to 1977, where Porsche scored some decisive victories in its motorsport career.
Targa means “shield” in Italian and was Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche AG’s response to emerging safety thinking, and the term Targa is a Porsche AG trademarked term for car models.
Since there was no convertible in the so-called 911 series of “F” models, the Targa quickly advanced to become a popular car with a sense of freedom…. fitting for the 1960s and 1970s.
See here a walkaround video of this offered 911 SC Targa:
This offered 911 SC Targa shows up in quite shiny black, though its thickness measurements show a range of 400 to 800. That is the only room for discussions: the exterieur.
The current owner invested a lot on the mainly repairings like the axles, brakes, engine, gearbox and even reupholstered the interieur seats with genuine leather. You can see that on the pictures below and it even gets proven by lots of bills. All that lots of money have already been invested and make this Targa a technical reliable driver and gives you the real sporty feeling of driving a 911 SC Targa. Most times it is the other way round, that you get offered a very shiny looking car what is technical ruined underneath.
Watching the car on its outside you see spots of usage and little things, that might be done. It still shows up quite beauty, but taking a very close look you see those typical points.
The all over impression convinces us of this 911, because what it comes down to is: you can reliable drive this 911 as it was supposed to in 1978.
This is an honest Porsche that doesn’t blind you, which is most important when buying a car, separating itself from lots of offered surprise eggs.
Facing the estimate this is still a valuable classic.
Take your chance to start this season with a reliable Porsche 911 Targa.
