Everybody knows, that S-Class means top of the tops luxury class.

The 1992 introduced W140 coupé showed the tradition of the coupé history at Mercedes-Benz in a very extraordinary way. Clear, calm forms with discreet power lines exuded dynamism and unpretentious sportiness. An unbeatable combination for coupé enthusiasts, which once again underscored the singular status of Mercedes coupés on the world market.
The double-glazed windows alone give you the feeling of silence in the interior, as if you are floating majestically.

This 1996 W140 S Coupé 420 CL shows up in well conditioned mostly first paint black opal metallic 189. Only the engine hood and the left fender got repainted for cosmetical reasons, proven by thickness measurements around 200 t0 250. The left rear fender shows a little rust coming through.

Watching the whole interieur you see it has been very well taken care of through the years. Everything works like the park distance control, sunroof, electrical seats, safety belt buttler, powered door closing, etc…
The original radio had been replaced to combine a CD Charger before the current 3rd owner bought this coupé in 2006. Since 2006 the owner collected evry bill, Tüv reports, etc.
The servicebook, manual and the first “Brief” and the emergency key are still with the car. Even the driving key shows no damages or cracks, what usually happened to most of them.

Watching it from below the chassis, the brake system, exhaust, hoses or the underbody panel show no defects. The car was presented to the TÜV who declared this W140 in technical very good condition and agrees to give it a fresh TÜV for the next two years. The current TÜV is valid until October 2022.

The all over impression leads to the conclusion, that this rare W140 S Coupé differs significantly from most offered W140 coupés, if you can find one at all. Of course it shows little signs of usage, but the techniques work fine and the optical impression is good.
