The VW Type 3 Variant
Most Type 3 models are very rare today, and if they still exist they are mostly restored.
Getyourclassic has again a rare Type 3 Variant 1600 L in unrestored very nice original condition from family ownership with only 68,000km mileage for you.
When shooting the video we are thrilled by the rare good and especially original interior and when driving it immediately throws us back to our childhood days of the 70s.
Make yourself an impression in the video:
In 1968 Anton Sperl, the 1st owner, went to Volkswagen and ordered this here offered type 3 Variant in the dreamlike color combination toga white with red interior and had it delivered to him on 21.11.1968.
He has the inspections done regularly at VW according to the intervals, which can also be seen in the service booklet.
Exactly 20 years later on 21.11.1988 he deregistered it. More exact backgrounds are not known.
His daughter inherits the vehicle from her father and has a classic car license for type 3 issued on 6.6.2002 according to paragraph 21c STVZO and the car to herself. She receives the 2nd green KFZ.-Brief, which is still present in the documents and is the 2nd owner. She has really used the type 3 only on a casual basis and deregistered it a short time later.
The current seller is a collector who values original and unrestored vehicles.
When he acquired the Type 3 12 years ago from the daughter of the first owner, he stored it initially untouched in a dry hall.
As part of a careful reanimation, the entire vehicle was blasted with dry ice on the underbody. The engine and transmission were removed, disassembled and repaired.
The brakes were overhauled and the hoses renewed, as were all the lubricants.
The entire interior was finished with Swiss Wax products. Even the basket mats are original.
For the exterior refurbishment, all trim parts, trim pieces, headlights and taillights were removed. The electrical system was also inspected and repaired as needed.
The paint was cleaned and resealed and shines beautifully again. There are a few small spots in the front that were touched up once in the past. The rear right fender has already been repainted once by the first owner and suggests a replacement scließen. There are also some other minor touch ups on the car below the trim. Above the trim, on the roof as well as the hoods the car is most likely still in its original paint.
This Type 3 shines again in a very nice and especially authentic condition and is ready for your trip.
The owner’s manual, the original service booklet as well as the other original literature of the on-board folder, the on-board tools and jack are also still present.
