In July 1979 Mr. Otto Immisch walks into the Volkswagen Dealer G.Weise in Göttingen and signs an order for a 1303 Cabriolet with a lots of extras and the special paint “silbergründiamant POR 250”.
The price back then was 17.404 Deutsche Mark and 29 Pfennige.
For whatever reason, Mr. Immisch never picked up the car.

Read the story of the now selling owner:
The car was ordered by my former colleague, the VW dealer Gerhard Weise, as one of the last Beetle convertibles from German production.

The order was placed in the name of a friend from Bremen and the invoice was then made out to the life partner of Mr. Weise, because VW dealers at that time were only allowed to sell these vehicles to end customers and could not order them for their own use.
The car was then registered to the dealership for 3 days and was then deregistered.
Afterwards the vehicle was always in the car dealership Weise and was driven according to statement of Mr. Weise only once on the occasion of a procession to the shooting festival.
The car dealership was closed in about 1996 and the Beetle Convertible was then more or less forgotten, it stood all the time in the hall of the car dealership.
In February 2022 Mr. Weise spoke to me that we should make the car roadworthy again, as well as have the TÜV and the H-certificate done.
In the fall of 2022, Mr. Weise called me again and offered me the car for sale due to age.

These works for reanimation had been done:

– Front brake calipers and pads replaced
– Brake shoes and wheel brake cylinder rear replaced
– Engine oil change
– Gearbox oil change
– brake fluid change
– Lighting repaired
– Front left tire valve replaced
– Fuel filter replaced
– Exhaust emission test, TÜV acceptance, H-certificate according to § 23 StVZO
– Fuel pump replaced
– Carburetor cleaned in ultrasonic bath, gaskets and diaphragms replaced
– float needle valve replaced
– Fuel tank replaced
– Transmitter for fuel gauge replaced
– Constant holder for fuel gauge in speedometer replaced
– Horn actuation repaired

When we look at the car up close it quickly becomes clear that this is an absolute rarity and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that is unlikely to come around again.
Even the 3-spoke sports steering wheel is an original VW steering wheel. Since it is an original accessory it could not be ordered from the factory and was mounted at the dealership before the scheduled delivery.
Of course, all documents such as the service booklet, owner’s manual, purchase order and the original vehicle registration certificate are present.
